Avery Dennison Opens First Customer Solutions Center In Asia Pacific

18 March 2009 - Avery Dennison today opened the first Customer Solutions Center in the Asia Pacific region that helps companies use pressure-sensitive labeling materials to develop new products, improve their existing offerings, and enhance their business operations.

The comprehensive, custom-built facility is located in Melbourne, Australia and contains the country's largest labelling materials laboratory, where Avery Dennison's vast technical resources and in-depth industry experience are available to support customers' product development projects.

"We have assembled a wealth of technical and marketing resources here at the first Customer Solutions Center in Asia Pacific," said John C. Quinn, vice president and general manager of Avery Dennison Roll Materials Asia Pacific. "This new facility reflects our commitment to investing and partnering with our customers in the region, and to drive continued industry advancement through innovation."

Despite the difficult economic environment, Avery Dennison continues to invest heavily in the Asia Pacific region. In addition to the new facility in Melbourne, it opened its first distribution center in Japan last month, installed Asia's largest coating plant in Guangzhou, China and opened a production facility in Pune, India in 2008. Avery Dennison Roll Materials division now has more than 30 facilities across the Asia Pacific region, where Avery Dennison employs approximately 18,000 people.

The Customer Solutions Center features well-equipped training facilities and display rooms where customers can experience Avery Dennison's technologies in applications ranging from food re-closures, RFID tags and wine labels to Specialty tapes, Graphics Vinyls, beer labelling solutions and EcoFriendly Products. The facility is staffed by Avery Dennison experts who can provide advice and consultation to customers looking to improve their products through innovation, enhanced functionality or better shelf-appeal. Demonstrations such as car wrapping, reflectives’ applications, product samples and RFID technologies are showcased in the facility.

Located within the new Head Office of Avery Dennison Materials in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, the Customer Solutions Center is close to many of Avery Dennison Materials' Victorian customers, allowing them to receive direct support more quickly with less travel time.

"Closer proximity allows us to work directly with our customers to develop new solutions, provide the very best applications advice, and train their people. Our new location will also help us to be more responsive to our customers' supply requirements and to assist them more readily," said David Martin, vice president and general manager of Avery Dennison Roll Materials Australia.
